marta amorim is a visual artist whose work focuses on technological processes of image production, with an emphasis on analyzing their operative mechanisms and the visual languages that emerge from them. Through experimentation with different devices and media, she incorporates error, deviation, and randomness as artistic material, adopting abstraction as a privileged field of visual inquiry. This approach leads to the systematic accumulation of extensive sets of images, gathered into a living archive that functions both as a record of process and as a creative laboratory, in which the organization and curation of the generated material are integral to the practice, enabling the emergence of new ideas and forms.
As a PhD candidate and researcher in Digital Media Art, she studies generative diffusion models, focusing on the visual properties of the images they produce and on the techno-aesthetic conditions that shape them, from a perspective grounded in the practices of abstract video art.
