spectral spaces is an audiovisual installation that combines images generated by a generative diffusion model with stereoscopic principles, expanded through the use of the binocular rivalry effect. The work proposes an immersive visual experience, marked by abstract compositions in continuous, almost imperceptible transition, intersected by visual discrepancies resulting from the optical phenomena explored. Together, these elements construct an unstable and dynamic visual field that challenges traditional forms of perception.
The imposed mode of display—which conditions viewing on the use of a stereoscopic prototype—favours an individualised relationship between viewer and image, encouraging active participation in the production of meaning and the recognition both of the act of seeing itself and of the technological mediation that shapes it. The exhibition device is dominated by a deliberate anachronism: the past is inscribed in the stereoscopic element, while the present manifests itself in the act of peering, understood as a conscious and reflective gesture, and the future—or its conceptual projection—is evoked by the synthetic moving images displayed within it. This visual construction is complemented by a soundscape that reinforces the observer’s sensory immersion.
